The beginning of the month saw the Donington Park Caterham Festival July 2017 which marked the 60th anniversary of the ever popular car not just with a series of Caterham races, but also with the launch of the Caterham Seven Donington Edition. There are only ten of the edition, each of which is named after one of the corners at the circuit, which also has a celebration this year, being 40 years since the track reopened.
Series racing through the course of the weekend included the Caterham Seven 270R Championship, the Caterham Roadsport Championship, the Caterham Seven 420R Championship, the Caterham Seven 310R Championship, the Caterham Supersport Championship, the Caterham Academy and even the French Caterham Cup. If that wasn’t enough on track action for you, then there was also two Formula Ford 1600 series running, the National and the Northern championships, bringing a hat trick of celebrations with July marking 50 years since the first FF1600 race.
It was great to see so many Caterhams racing together, with multiple series having more than thirty entries, and the track looking very busy. It was a fantastic sight for the weekend, and there were plenty of people in attendance to enjoy the spectacle.
Here are some photos from the weekend.
