Luis Leeds at Knockhill 2016

British Formula Four Knockhill Event 2016

Last weekend saw the BTCC and related series head north of the border, including the British Formula Four Knockhill Event 2016 as some of the drivers had their first experience of the undulating circuit. Qualifying was an exciting session with a drying track, and in the dying seconds Petru Florescu pipped Alex Quinn to pole.

In the first race on Saturday, Petru lead from pole and took the chequered flag with Alex retaining second, ahead of Devlin Defranscesco.

Sunday morning saw the second race with an already busy circuit still having a line of cars snaking its way into the various car parks as thousands of fans made their way to watch, and it was a good choice given the quality of the racing. Devlin DeFrancesco and Petru Florescu were fighting with Jamie Caroline for position when a collision occurred, the aftermath of which saw Petru excluded from the weekend and Devlin and Jamie with ten second grid penalties.

Once the safety car had cleared and racing continued, Luis Leeds took the win from fellow Australian Zane Goddard, with Max Fewtrell joining them on the podium.
