The Ginetta Junior Winter Testing 2017 session today was part of the junior test day at Northamptonshire’s Rockingham circuit, where series including the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship, the new Clio Cup Junior Championship, and the JSCC series were all on track.
The day was cold and wet, and the inclement conditions meant that the drivers were being put through their paces on what was a busy track for most of the day with the various competitors from the various championships maximising their opportunity to give their cars a go on the circuit.
The Ginetta Junior championship has a reputation for plenty of exciting racing and close competition, and even in the test, there was plenty going on right across the circuit.
For some drivers, it was an opportunity to return to the series after the winter break, and for others it was the opportunity to try out the Ginettas, which form part of the BTCC packagethrough the year, and which is televised, getting plenty of attention for the young drivers.
The drivers will be racing each other from the first weekend in April, so not long until the new season starts.
Here are some photos from the day, which show just how gloomy and dark the circuit was at times.
