Sebastian Vettel in Free Practice 1 for the 2013 British Grand Prix

Free Practice One for the 2013 British Grand Prix

It’s a bit wet here in Silverstone this year (28th June 2013) but nowhere near as bad as last year, and it is clearing already. We have just had Free Practice One for the 2013 British Grand Prix which saw limited running because of the conditions.  The good news is that forecast is for the weather to improve over the course of the weekend with hope for a warm and sunny race on Sunday, which would make a pleasant change from last year.

Although this morning has been wet, there have been some dry patches, and the sun keeps hinting that it might make an appearance.  As you can see from these pictures, though, there is no lack of spray on the track from the standing water on parts of the circuit.  After a relatively first few minutes of the session, there was a hiatus through the middle of the ninety minutes, and then some more running at the end.

We are hoping to see more track time from the teams in Free Practice Two this afternoon.

Update:  I have now added some additional photos to this collection, which should give an idea of just how much spray there was on Friday.  Thankfully, the weather did, of course, improve through the weekend.
