Pascal Wehrlein was born in Germany to a German father and a Mauritian mother in 1994 and took up karting in 2003. Pascal progressed quickly through karting, and in 2010 he moved to the ADAC Formel Masters series, where he finished 6th before winning the series the following year. He moved to the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2012, where he finished second, as well as a fourth place in the Macau Grand Prix. DTM was next, where he became the youngest ever race winner at the age of 19.
In 2014, Pascal combined DTM with being the Mercedes F1 test driver, and in 2015, Pascal managed to become DTM champion whilst being the test driver for both the Mercedes and the Force India F1 teams, and represented Germany at the Race of Champions in London.
In February 2016, the Manor team announced that Pascal had one of the race seats for the 2016 season, and shortly afterwards, announced that fellow rookie Rio Haryanto would be his team mate. At the end of the year, it was announced that Pascal would move to Sauber for 2017. At the end of season, Pascal left Formula One and returned to DTM.
There is an index to my other pages of photos of various past and present Formula One drivers here.
