This weekend sees the CSCC Donington Event 2016 as the Classic Sports Car Club makes its way to the Leicestershire circuit. Series racing include the Swinging Sixties – for cars built in the 1960s – Future Classics, the Magnificent Sevens, Jaguar XJ racing, and plenty of other races. The drivers had to contend with very wet conditions on Saturday morning, with the weather clearing up from early afternoon. Not deterred by the poor conditions, the events continued with remarkably few incidents given just how wet and slippy the track was.

The Swinging Sixties include some superb cars, and an impressively large grid.

I am also a fan of the Jaguar racing, and again, the event saw a packed grid of Jaguars.

Plenty of the cars had a historic livery to match their historic pedigree, like this Porsche in Martini livery.

As well as the cars being clad in historic livery, there were plenty of drivers and pit crew with a retro appearance too, and seeing the races that involved a driver swap mid way gave a good opportunity to see some of the more classic race suits.

Given how many packed grids there were over the weekend, the whole paddock car park was filled with competitors and cars, an impressive sight with so many collections of classic cars. A brilliant event with plenty to see, in the paddock and garages as much as on track. Definitely worth a visit.
