The Fiesta Junior drivers

BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship 2016 at Rockingham

The weekend’s motor racing included the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship 2016 at Rockingham alongside the the Fiesta Championship, the BMW Compact Cup, the Teekay Couplings Production GTi Mk2 Championship, the Teekay Couplings Production GTi Mk5 Series and the Toyo Tires Porsche Championship, meaning for a few days of busy track action.

The Fiesta Junior Championship continues to grow, and this weekend included a busy field with eighteen competitors, which was great to see the championship grow. The qualifying session saw Cameron Pugh set the fastest time from Bradley Burns with Carlito Miracco in third. It was a tremendously exciting race, with action through the field and positions changing so quickly that the rather excellent circuit commentary was struggling to keep up. Bradley was soon in the lead, and held it through the race, with Harry Gooding in second and Callum Hawkins-Row taking the third step on the podium.

The second race saw the same three racers occupy the three podium positions, this time with Harry Gooding on the top step from Callum and Bradley. Carlito Miracco, who had suffered a first lap incident in the first race causing lots of damage to his car and meaning that he started the second race in sixteenth position, drove superbly to set the fastest lap on his way back to fourth place.

Here are a few photos from the weekend.
