Jess King in the Fiesta Championship at Rockingham

BRSCC Fiesta Championship 2016 at Rockingham

Last weekend saw the latest rounds of the BRSCC Fiesta Championship 2016 at Rockingham, as part of a bill that included the Fiesta Junior Championship, as well as the BMW Compact Cup, the Teekay Couplings Production GTi Mk2 Championship, the Teekay Couplings Production GTi Mk5 Series and the Toyo Tires Porsche Championship, so altogether a busy weekend.

The Quaife Fiesta Championship continues to grow, and the enlarged grid saw the C class cars racing separately to the A, B and D classes, meaning that the series enjoyed four races over the course of the weekend. Qualifying in the C class saw Samuel Priest continue his form from practice and put his car at the front of the grid, ahead of Nick Sanderson and Myles Baker. An action packed first race resulted in Samuel Priest remaining on form with a top step on the podium, joined by Nick Sanderson and Kevin Stirling on the amended results, after a series of penalties were applied.

The second race was another eventful affair, this time with Simon Horrobin taking the win ahead of Myles Baker and Alfonso Skriczka.

In the class A, B & D races, Alastair Kellett topped the times from John Cooper and Jamie White, with Jess King who won at the last round in Silverstone in fourth. The first race saw the top four finish in the top four – in the order Kellett, White, Cooper, King – although with plenty of other movement in other parts of the field. The second race saw a familiar four take the chequered flag, this time in the order Kellett, Cooper, White and King.
