British F4 Rockingham 2017

British Formula Four Rockingham Event 2017

The British Formula Four Rockingham Event 2017 was as normal part of the BTCC weekend, and in marked contrast to Saturday of last year, there was plenty of sunshine to be seen this time.  Qualifying say Linus Lundqvist set the fastest time ahead of Oliver York and Logan Sargeant.   Lundqvist held on to convert the pole to a race win, with York in second and championship leader Jamie Caroline taking the final step of the podium.

Qualifying had put Patrik Pasma on pole for race two, ahead of Alex Quinn and Ayrton Simmons.  However, it was Quinn who took the win this time, sharing the podium with Pasma and Simmons.  The sunshine on Sunday continued through the afternoon, and the skies were blue as the third and final British F4 race of the weekend lined up.  The grid this time saw Sargeant on pole from Simmons and York, and it was Sargeant who took the win from York with Caroline claiming another third place of the weekend.

The results leave Caroline at the top of the championship table from Oscar Piastri, with Sargeant in third.  There are two more race weekends to go, at Silverstone and at Brands Hatch.  Caroline’s 74.5 point advantage keeps him as the definite favourite, but there are still six races of the championship left.
