British F4 Knockhill 2017

British F4 Knockhill Rounds 2017

The British Touring Car Championship trip to Scotland last weekend included the British F4 Knockhill Rounds 2017 as one of the support series for the BTCC. Qualifying saw Oscar Piastri set the fastest time, ahead of Alex Quinn and Logan Sargeant. Race one saw Piastri convert this pole position to a win, with Jamie Caroline charging through for a second place ahead of Ayrton Simmons.

There was an extra race over the weekend as a round had been cancelled at Oulton Park, and this became the second race of the weekend. Caroline was on pole, ahead of Piastri and Sargeant, and it was a win for Caroline ahead of Sargeant with Karl Massaad in third.

Sunday was back to the Knockhill rounds, with race three seeing Hampus Ericsson on pole from Oliver York and Sargeant, and the exciting race that ensued left York on the top step of the podium ahead of Sargeant, and Ericsson in third for his first British F4 podium.

Finally, Piastri was on pole for the fourth and final race of the weekend ahead of Quinn and Caroline, and it was another win for Piastri ahead of Quinn and Ayrton Simmons who managed to get himself onto the podium.

After what looked like it would be a runaway season for Caroline, there is now a pack of drivers still in the hunt for the title, and the last three rounds at Rockingham, Silverstone and Brands Hatch should be as action packed and exciting as the rest of the year has been.

Meanwhile, here are some photos from Knockhill.
