Today saw the British Superbikes Pre season test 2018 at Donington Park. Events at Donington were cancelled at the weekend given the amount of snow on the ground, and although the track was now cleared, there were still little white piles to be seen around the circuit. It was cold, and there were a few showers, but that did not stop a big crowd turning up to get the first chance to see the riders and bikes not just in the British Superbikes series, but also for the support events too.
The day is a good opportunity for the riders to familiarise themselves with the Leicestershire circuit, as the first round of the 2018 season takes place there over the Easter weekend, before heading to Brands Hatch two weeks later. There will be further in season test sessions at Oulton Park and Snetterton through the year.
As well as the chance to see the bikes on track, there was plenty of opportunity to see the activity in the pits with the mechanics and the rest of the teams hard at work keeping the bikes out on the circuit.
For some, it will also have been a first look at some of the improvements being made by Donington over the winter, with work still going on before some of the bigger events at the circuit through the year.
Meanwhile, here are some of the photos from the British Superbikes Pre season test 2018 today.
