It’s the 1st March, and whilst those in Wales will be celebrating St David’s Day, Londoners will have something else to be happy about today. London’s first “cat cafe”, Lady Dinah’s, opens today. The café will include eleven cats who will be “working” there, who you might meet if you pay them a visit. The café is in the rather trendy area of Shoreditch, which I would suspect is one of the areas of London most able to provide the volume of customers required to sustain a cat café.
Here is the launch video for the café.
As you can tell from the video, there are eleven cats “working” in the cafe, and their profiles are on the cafe’s website, and you can see them here.
You can have a look before you visit so that you can recognise your favourite cats… Of course, you might want to think twice before you visit if you have an allergy to cats.
Before you think that it is just another silly stunt, the café does have a strong commitment to animal welfare, and their website does include useful information on their views on animal welfare.
So, if you are in Shoreditch and looking for some feline inspired lunch or coffee options, then you might want to pop along to Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium.
