Last weekend saw the Ginetta GT Supercup Knockhill Event 2016 as part of the BTCC visit to the Scottish circuit. There was an extra race to fit in to the programme after the third run at Snetterton was cancelled. Championship contender, Jamie Orton who won each of the races that were held at Snetterton two weeks before, was missing as he was preparing for fatherhood.
Tom Hibbert started the first race on pole, but did not finish after Will Burns attempted to pass him and ended the race for both of them. Tom Wrigley took the top step of the podium with Carl Boardley and Mark Davies joining him.
In the second race, Tom Wrigley claimed his eighth win of the year, with Will Burns taking second and Mark Davies again on the third step of the podium. The third race saw a very familiar top two steps of the podium, with Ben Green joining Tom and Will this time.
With three wins under his belt already over the weekend, the question was, could Tom Wrigley claim a fourth? It was not to be, with Will Burns passing Tom to take the final top podium step, with Tom in second place and Ben Green in third.
A weekend to remember for Tom Wrigley. Can he carry his form on to Rockingham?
