Jean-Eric Verne in qualifying for the 2013 British Grand Prix

A gallery of Jean-Eric Vergne photos

I am always surprised at just how popular pictures of Jean-Eric Vergne are on Flickr. Many of the pictures that I post online of Jean-Eric are more popular than those of drivers that might be considered to be more famous, or to have more of a following.

Jean-Eric started driving at an early age.  At just four years old, he started karting at his father’s circuit near Paris. He moved on to competitions at the age of ten, and was French champion in the relevant category by the age of eleven.

He moved into Formula Renault at the age of 17, winning the French Formula Renault Campus at his first attempt, with ten podium places out of thirteen races.   He moved up to Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 the following year, and in 2010, he moved to British Formula Three, where he won the championship with six races remaining. He also had some races in GP3 during the 2010 season, and also in the Formula Renault 3.5 series. Even though he only took part in the last six races of 2010 season, out of the seventeen in the championship, Jean-Eric managed a remarkably impressive eighth place, including a win and a third place in Silverstone, and a second and third place at the Circuit de Catalunya.   Here he is at Silverstone that year.

2011 saw Jean-Eric come second in the championship, and was also the Toro Rosso test driver from the Belgian Grand Prix in August, including three practice sessions at Grands Prix

The end of 2011 saw Jean-Eric confirmed as a Toro Rosso driver alongside Daniel Ricciardo for the 2012 season.  He managed to score points in his second race, at Malaysia, and went on to score points three more times that season.  The start of the 2013 saw the Toro Rosso line up being unchanged, and again scored points in Malaysia, and again in Monaco.  A third points finish Canada kept the momentum that the team was building, but the second half of the season was less impressive, with no more points finishes.  Jean-Eric’s team mate, Daniel Ricciardo, was given the Red Bull seat vacated by Mark Webber for 2014, and Jean-Eric was teamed up with young rookie Daniil Kvyat for 2014. However, Jean-Eric’s services were not retained for 2015, with Max Verstappen taking his place.  Jean-Eric moved to Formula E, and managed to take pole position in his first race.

Here are some of my pictures of Jean-Eric Vergne at events over the years.  I hope that you like them.

There is a list of my various galleries of Formula One drivers here.
